///////////////////////////////////////// THE ISLAND NATION OF JAPAN
Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP has been comprehensively localized for the island nation of Japan by a highly respected videogame company headquartered in Tokyo known as 8-4. The project launched on June 21st - the summer solstice - alongside an official Sword & Sworcery remix record. The project has been met with a rave review in popular weekly videogame magazine Famitsu, plus legendary creators like Fumito Ueda, Baiyon & Hip Tanaka seem to dig it.
“It’s simply a magnificent game” says Suda 51, CEO of Grasshopper Manufacture, the studio behind such acclaimed games as No More Heroes, Killer 7, and Shadows of the Damned. In this new edition, legendary Japanese videogame creator Suda 51 provides the voice of Logfella. Suda 51 has also been involved in the launch proceedings, participating in a press event at 8-bit cafe in Tokyo as well as writing about #sukimusu in his weekly column in Famitsu.
In the clip above Suda is just awkwardly shooting the breeze, Robert Ashley style, saying something like ".... nice weather we're having, huh? The sunshine, it feels good... hasn't rained in a while, so that's cool..." If you'd like to hear Suda 51 inside Sword & Sworcery you'll need to change your system's language settings to Japanese.
This localization + launch effort was lead by our trusted partners at 8-4 and motivated by a love of videogames. If you'd like to help 8-4 in their mission to help bridge East & West, be sure to get a copy of the remix record.
